Meridian

See and control supported smart-home devices from one desktop app. Meridian stores its own data on your hardware.

Available for macOS, Windows, and Linux · macOS 0.1.0+4

One view of a messy smart home

Meridian puts rooms, cameras, devices, scenes, events, and alerts on one desktop.

Start on one computer. Add an always-on hub when you need it.

Meridian can run by itself on your computer or connect to Meridian Runtime for a whole-house setup.

Use Meridian on one computer

Connect supported smart-home services directly from the desktop app. No separate server is required.

  • Browse rooms, devices, and cameras
  • Run scenes and control supported devices
  • Keep Meridian’s data on that computer

Run Meridian for the whole house

Meridian Runtime can stay on an always-on computer and serve other devices on your home network.

  • Keep automations available when your desktop app is closed
  • Connect supported providers and notifications in one place
  • Let additional Meridian clients join over the home network

What Meridian connects to

Support varies by provider and device. Some connections stay entirely on your network; others rely on the provider’s own service.

Home Assistant

Bring Home Assistant rooms, entities, and controls into Meridian.

Tuya

Connect compatible Tuya devices through the provider integration.

Amazon Alexa

Link compatible Alexa Smart Home devices after granting Amazon permission.

Arlo Cloud

Connect compatible Arlo cameras and security devices through the Arlo cloud integration.

Local network

Find supported equipment through Meridian’s LAN discovery.

Meridian is local-first, but it cannot make a cloud-based device local. When an integration depends on Home Assistant, Tuya, Amazon, Arlo, or another provider, that provider’s own connection and privacy terms still apply.

What “local-first” means here

Meridian runs on hardware you control and keeps its application data there. You do not have to send your entire home through an ncdLabs-hosted control service.

Local application data

Meridian keeps its configuration and synchronized device information on the computer or Meridian Runtime you operate.

Choose where Meridian Runtime runs

If you add Meridian Runtime, you choose the computer that runs it and the clients allowed to connect.

What connected providers receive

Cloud-based providers may still receive requests and data needed to operate their integrations.

This marketing page uses Google Analytics to measure page visits and download clicks. Those website analytics do not include your Meridian configuration or smart-home device data.

From download to first device

Meridian can start as a desktop-only setup. Add the household runtime later if you need it.

Questions before you install

Do I need a Meridian cloud account?

You can run Meridian on your own computer or Meridian Runtime. Connected providers may require their own accounts.

Does every integration work without the internet?

No. Meridian can keep its own data and runtime local, but integrations built on a provider’s cloud still need that provider’s service.

How do I install it?

Choose the download for macOS, Windows, or Linux, then follow the installation guide for your platform.

Is Meridian a replacement for Home Assistant?

Not necessarily. Meridian can connect to Home Assistant and provide a separate desktop view. You can also use Meridian with other supported providers and local discovery.

Where are the mobile versions?

iPhone and iPad builds are in development and are not available for public App Store download yet.
