Getting started
Set up Meridian on your desktop
Start with the desktop app on macOS, Windows, or Linux. You can add Meridian Runtime later if you want an always-on, whole-house setup.
Install the app
macOS
- Download the DMG from the product page.
- Open the disk image and move Meridian to Applications.
- Launch Meridian from Applications.
Windows
- Download the ZIP from the product page.
- Extract the folder to a permanent location.
- Run
meridian_client.exe from the extracted folder.
Linux
- Download the AppImage or DEB from the product page.
- AppImage: mark executable, then run it. DEB: install with your package manager.
- Launch Meridian from your app menu or the AppImage.
Download Meridian
Connect your first provider
- Choose a providerSelect a supported connection such as Home Assistant, Tuya, Amazon Alexa, Arlo Cloud, or local network discovery.
- Complete authorizationProvider accounts may open their own sign-in or consent page. Meridian does not receive the password you enter on a provider’s site.
- Review what Meridian foundConfirm the rooms, devices, cameras, and controls you want to use.
- Try a simple actionCheck state first, then test a low-risk control such as a light or scene.
Standalone or whole-house
One computer
Run Meridian directly on the desktop without a separate server.
Meridian Runtime
Use an always-on computer when you want persistent automation or more Meridian clients on the home network.
